After last week at Banks ( a real bust ) thought the bride and I would give Roosevelt and the Spokane arm a try. WX was beyond
outstanding and so was the catching, including a 28" bow, an unbelievable fight too, really surprised we got it in the boat and
had to bonk it on the head to calm things down. Kept a doz eyes for the freezer/winter fish fry, although no great size, 14-15".
Used typical walleye rigs, trolled bottom bouncers with worms, Colors were bright, flashing and green - tried deviating to see
what would happen and nothing - bright day = bright colors the books say. Fished above porcupine in our favorite holes.
Water temp 62-63deg. Back to the Ft. Spokane ramp at 3:00 and a lot of boats coming in - ourselves and a couple from
Lewiston were the only ones at the cleaning station - a few locals were standing around bragging about how well they had
done in the "Big Water", but didn't say where or when or anything else when queried - yup, that and cow farts are 17% of
greenhouse gasses. Sure hope we can get one more day like this before the water gets much cooler.
