We spent four days on the Columbia fishing for fall Chinook. We fished 12 hour days and managed to catch 6 fish between two rods. Compared to previous years it was slow, and I think we did better than most. We had to work hard for the fish we caught and managed to catch our limits on two of the four days. We used Brads Super Baits behind flashers with tuna. The fish ranged from probably 8 pounds to 20 and were in nice shape, except for the one with Sea Lion bite marks. There were far fewer boats on the river this year and we had times where there were only a couple of boats in sight. With the run numbers the way they have been, we were very thankful to catch what we did. The water was very high on a couple of days and the weeds sere brutal. Although the weather was fantastic and we had a great time as always.
