Very slow day fishing in area 11 today. Marked a lot of fish, but just couldn't get them to commit. Tried hoochies and Ace Hi Fly, but nothing. I had recently received a couple Old Goat lures and thought I would try one. Put it in the water, and not 3 minutes later caught the only fish of the day. I tipped it with a small piece of herring. Not sure if, or how, that affects the action of the lure. Either way, it worked. Can't wait to try the lure on blackmouth.

Bill: Thanks for putting our lures to work--appreciate it! (In terms of blackmouth, we were fishing the 5" OG2 in fluoro-green/chartreuse two weeks ago out of Sekiu. We released a number of blackmouth that nailed this lure when we were targeting the Coho. Believe this size/color should be effective this winter.)

I can tell you from first hand experience blackmouth love the OG's. Excellent candlefish imitation. The herring strip does affect the action so check before you drop it down. Obviously you found the OG magic today. Congrats!!

I am a big OG believer as well. Most of my salmon came on the OG1 and 2 this year.
