Debated Lake Cassidy or Gardner Lake again...I think I made the right choice...arrived at lake 4:30pm couple cars in parking lot and two people shore fishing but no boats...hauled boat and gear three trips later ready to roll. Want to right of dock and cast to shore and where I got fish on Sunday...only had one or two hits on top water rainbow minnow #5 and nothing on buzzbait...so decided to try green/black spinner bait...got weeds deep and grass...tried closer to shore by a log first cast Bam...big wiggle and reel him in... lip and photo...tape measure another 14"! Third one in last two trips...had another hit the spinner bait but got off saw him not very big. Went down shore and got two more on minnow just bite was slower. Had to put on ski jacket bit cooler tonight. Tried across lake to left of dock by logs but no hits on spinner bait or top water...ended up at end of lake and tried stumps sure enough bite small 5" then better hit 11"...got couple more close to shore on minnow and put on buzzbait and cast about...got three hits in central Lily pads and lost one. Next cast get the buzzbait tracking across the water and Bam big fish! Pulling hard came to boat twice and ran away twice...got him on third try... whoa...break out tape measure in the dark..grab end of it hold it up close to read it..16"! Ties my best at this lake also on a buzzbait. My line on next cast did the backlash so tried quickly to undo it but it was stuck...it was pretty dark so quit at 10 in the boat and lots of line on bottom of the boat...my spinning reel was having major loop issues tonight. Not bad last two times out 16", 3-14" and 11". For a small pond(lake) it has some good bass.
All fish caught and released including one sunfish out deep on top water minnow.
