Great day Walleye fishing today! They are now dropping the water down making the walleye feed! Started fishing at 7:30 am and the fishing was slow resulting in a few small Walleye. About 9:00 am the bite picked up and started picking up larger size fish. I started jigging at 75 foot with a few fish and then worked my way out deeper to 110' deep and caught a few more Walleye. I then decided to move out to a 120' - 160' deep and started catching walleye consistently. I had 16 Walleye in the boat and back to the boat landing about 11:00 or 11:30 am.
Was using a 1 oz round jig with a rubber worm tipped with night crawler. If you guys get a chance to catch Lake Roosevelt Turkey and Walleye cast and blast show on Northwest Fishing Reports episode it will explain our technique in greater detail! Remember everyone the calmer the wind the better jigging is at these depths! There is great Walleye fishing from now until June. If Lake Roosevelt's water is moving the Walleye are biting! Also everyone the Trout and Kokanee bite should be really picking up the plankton is clouded in the top water column. Good luck everyone!!!
