Launched about 9:30 am at Ft Spokane. Started fishing across from launch and caught a regular rainbow immediately. Trolled east along north shore and picked up a nice 18" walleye. Surprise. Action was slow and not marking fish so headed out to mainstream. Nothing at our regular good spot at the confluence so headed to split rock. Started catching immediately. Ended with two limits for two fishermen and put back at least 5 unclipped and five clipped. Mostly 14 to 15" but included one 19 1/2 " line taker. Yellow was the hot fly today. Orange got nothing . Perch was good also. Fished seemed to prefer the shaded side of bays. Mostly less than 35' water but got a couple on deeper water on turns. Had fish on all three poles at once one time and two poles a couple of times. Filled trout limit about 2:30 so headed back to the arm to look for walleye. No success but we are not really set up for walleye fishing. (did see a 6 pounder in another guys fish box). Fishing leaded line, three colors and long leader. 1.6 to 2 mph. Lake was flat, sun was bright, wind was calm. Great day for fishing and the catching was good too. Also saw two golden eagles, two bald eagles, and a couple of herons. Sure beats working.
