Agree the 'bows are heavier than usual this time of year - we're fortunate for that. Update on Porcupine Bay is probably not before next spring due to a second slide. Thanks for your report!

11/11/2018 9:40:48 AMI'm with you part time on the porkypine bay road, however ---being an old retired Arch/Civil engineer I've been very impressed
with the newer techniques for anchoring a sand based roadway where the slope is in excess of 30deg, but this looks like they may
eventually have to go either higher up to get into the basaltic base or go to a lower level at the base of the slope and then just grade
off the sand when it slides over the road - this is a tuff one. We made it up to just below the falls a couple of times this past summer, but
catching was not real good until we got back down to just about the blue house on the tribal side and then trolling down past the
narrows - jigging only above the blue house for the'eyes and trolling below. The worst part of the commute is the return trip into
a stiff headwind, but it is pretty and quiet up there unless the logging trucks are running as they've been logging the burned ares
this past summer and some the year before after the fire - nobody told me it was supposed to be easy/fun all the time - we just enjoy
the opportunities around here for some good fishing. Hoping to make the last boat trip this coming week - then wait for the Koke's
to show up in Feb, wx permitting - have not found them the past few years, but have to stay optimistic - hope to see ya out there some
some where one of these days.

11/11/2018 12:40:42 PMThe narrows by the blue house is where we fished. I have done really well there and caught trout and walleye on the same gear but nothing doing yesterday.

11/28/2018 12:26:58 PMHi Mark--Thanks for your tin-guppy fishing reports. I really enjoy reading them. I see you like to use Seagar 12 pound fluorocarbon line. I was wondering if you have your whole reel loaded with that line, or do you use it only for a short length of leader section? I found it yesterday here locally and it is $11.99 for just 75 feet of it. Quite expensive. If you are loading your reel with some other kind of line that's not so expensive can you give me a heads up as to what it is? I have a Coldwater reel loaded with 30 pound braid that might work fine to put some 12# Seagar fluorocarbon on the end of it. Not sure? Thanks for your input.

11/30/2018 9:03:01 AMI started out using 6lb fluorocarbon and then tried some 8LB, a couple of different brands and finally settled on the 12lb Seabuar Red Label as the only fluorocarbon I could trust for my leaders. I just use the fluorocarbon for the final 2 to 4 feet of leader. There may be some fluoro out there in a lighter weight that will hold up but I was tired of loosing fish and gear for what I considered no good reason. I have always been a light tackle guy so moving up to 12lb leader was quite a jump for me. I also use quite a bit of 8 LB P-line. I'm not all that scientific in my approach and am not inclined to put new leader on ever couple of trips. You couldn't prove it by me that fluorocarbon is really worth the effort, maybe but I will need to gather more data. Don't remember what I paid for my 200 yds of Seajuar Red Label but I would say probably 15$ to 20$.

I will have to see if I can find out if the red label stuff is the thickest of the three kinds of Seagar fluorocarbon that I am finding here in Longview, Wa. at Bobs. All three say 12#, but they range from thickest, medium, and thinnest in line diameter. Wish me luck.
