The normal suspects had lines in the water by 7:00 this morning. We returned to an area mid lake where we found fish last week. I had a fish on a pink #7 flickershad before I could get a second line out. Unfortunately my brand new leader snapped after a spectacular leap by a good sized rainbow. 5 minutes later the same thing happened to Al. It looked like it might be an expensive fishing day but it was the last equipment failure for us. Over the next 2 hours we boated and released a dozen fat and feisty fish in the 17-19” range. The bite really shut off mid morning and we tried both ends of the lake with only an occasional fish.
Our best results came from #7 Flickershads in pink, purple, gold and green colors. 2.4 mph in12-15 FOW. Water temp was 41*. The dock has been removed from the SW launch.
It was another good day on the water with great friends!
