Good day bank fishing at hunters! My dad had never gone shore fishing for trout so we headed to hunters near the net pens before daylight. Got our chairs setup at my spot and had lines in the water at 7:30 we had one pole on the bottom with a 4' leader and worm with white marshmallow and 2 poles with bobbers and about 6-7' of line below the bobber and just a worm. Caught one with the bottom pole but all the action today was the bobbers in the top column of water.

For the first couple hours the bite was hot and we'd get a hit as soon as we cast out. All decent triploids! I'm always impressed how fat they get. Best one of the day was about 17" and football shaped. All were hatchery triploids except one real unicorn, we got a landlocked chinook! Same size as the trout but the typical black mouth and longer jaws. I hear they show up every now and then washed down from lake cour d'alene.

headed home at 11:30 after the bite died down just a few fish shy of our limit. Great day to relax on the shore!
