Just can't quite give it up yet this year. This is actually for two different trips. We also hit Stevens a week ago. Last week 4 hours of fishing resulted in one perch...yesterday, nothing.

A week ago we marked a fair number interesting looking items on or near the bottom in 45-60'. I'm convinced the marks were a loose school of fish of reasonable size--not perch. Unfortunately, I didn't take a screenshot of the fish finder to post here. We dragged a bunch of stuff over and through the marks with no bites, except for light taps from the occasional perch on our dropshot. Craw jigs, dropshot, blades, grubs and tubes w/o success.

Just out of curiosity we went back to the same location yesterday to take another crack at those marks. They weren't there, which confirmed they were fish at least. Very big schools of perch both layered on the bottom and in random balls, but all the ones we've seen have been pretty small.

Time to change to a different lake for the next trip--may try LMB one more time before we get into the holidays...
