We finally got back on the water again after spending a lot of time in the woods chasing animals. Lake Chelan has been slow this fall for the most part. The last week has changed a little with more fish moving down lake, with that being said the fish seem to be smaller. We did catch a few bigger ones. There doesn’t seem to be a shortage of cutthroat trout around as we have landed a fair amount on Kokanee gear.

I have been fishing Rocky Mountain Tackle along side kokabow tackle. I am getting used to running RMT as there are many different tackle manufacturers of tackle out there and the all fish a little different than one another.

I have been running RMT moonshine dodgers and assassin spinners. Along side RMT I have been running what I have ran for last couple years the Kokabow dodger, spinners and the new Kokabug. I have been running lures in pink, purple, and green with the darker colors working better for me.

We have been using the trusted old shoe peg corn. I have been using scents like shrimp, Krill, anis and bloody tuna. My favorite has been shrimp and anis together. I also have been using Northwest Rod Bender corn in shrimp\anis died pink. This corn has performed well and is a good choice for those that don’t want to buy all the ingredients to make their own corn.

We have been targeting Kokanee in the 60-120ft range. The depth of water hasn’t seemed to be real important yet as the fish have been fairly scattered. We have been focusing on the yacht club and Chelan State Park areas. You will have to put in some time to locate these fish right now but they are starting to show up.

Even though the fish are smaller right now this is still a great fishery where you can have a blast catching fish. If you don’t have the equipment to winter fish and would like to experience this unique cold weather fishery we can help. Contact us via web site or by phone 509-881-9052.
