Took a couple of my normal fishing buddies out on MLK day and caught buckets O fish, literally. When we emptied my livewell at the end of the day we had 2 five gallon buckets full of eyes and had to go back for a refill; in all we cleaned three limits of nice 15 1/2 to 19 walleyes.

How did we catch that many you may be asking? Well all were caught on jigs in 20-50 FOW. We fished directly across from 7 Bays and near Hawk Creek. We launched out of Ft. Spokane. We had to move around a lot as in both locations the fish were scattered but we would locate one or two and then move a little, find a couple more and then move again. My arms were definitely tired from doing so much casting. It wasn't until after noon that we stopped busting ice out of our rod guides. Brrrrr.

A red or black 1/2 oz. or 5/8 oz. jig with a pumpkin chartreuse tail grub or 4 inch worm was the most productive. We didn't jig really. We had to slowly drag the jig and most bites were just weight although as the day progressed we did get a few actually walleye hits.

The water temp on the main river is down to 39 degrees and until it starts to rise I wouldn't expect any real movement up the Arm although after talking to a couple of other boats there are still quite a few dinks roaming around the usual places.
