Spent 3.5 hours this morning at the Wildlife area just above the mouth, without seeing a fish. Two of us drifted jigs under bobbers and did a little spin n glo plunking with a shrimp. The water is at winter low flows and cold at 36 degrees. At least the sun was out! I was above Marengo earlier in the week and didn't have any luck up there either. Saw the wildlife officer and only one reported steelhead caught from by Lyons Ferry in the Snake recently. Fished the Touchet by Dayton yesterday without luck either, very low, cold and clear also but better than being in the house looking at the snow! I knows its a low numbers year but I'd like to have seen some fish by now. At least I still have some smoked fish to enjoy. Hopefully we'll see fish in these tributaries when the snow melt increases flows and the water warms.
