Since returning from a month of fishing in Tasmania its been hard to get motivated to get out on the ice. When I left in January I was certain I would be open water fishing upon my return but Mother Nature had other plans.

I decided to hit one of my Manson area lakes on Friday in search of some late ice perch. It didn't take long before I located the fish out in the deep basin. I moved around a fair bit picking up fish here and there before finally stumbling on a solid school that accounted for over half of the 20 fish I harvested.

Unfortunately shortly after getting on the fish and after having the ice all to myself another fisherman showed up and hovered around me eyeing my catch. I had some words with the guy who was poorly equipped for ice fishing, short in stature, and apparently mute. Eventually I gave him a couple fish since I felt bad for him.
