We arrived late Thursday evening to 30 degree temperature, and then started fishing Friday Morning around 10:30 am. We did pretty good the first day catching 5 in the 12-13" range. We also caught a lot in the 7-8" range. The smallest fish we caught was 4". Saturday was pretty poor, especially for trolling. Overall, for the weekend we had the best luck bottom fishing near the waterfalls and cliffs in the big lake with power bait. For the weekend we (3-4 of us fishing) got about a dozen in that 12-13" range. The weather was great all three days, warming up to about 70 degrees by noon, but getting dark by about 5:30-6:00 pm. The late October days make for short fishing days. Overall, I would say this was the best we have done in October in a couple of years. Hopefully this means we will have a better spring season than last year.
