What a strange trip this turned out to be. We had heard no reports of people fishing in the Keller Ferry area so we were skeptical. We left Yakima at 3:30 AM and launched the boat at Keller Ferry about 6:30 AM. We fished just above the ferry for an hour and had no bites so we headed down river toward the Tire hole. First spot we stopped was really slow, two fish in about an hour. Then we moved just a few hundred yards and the fishing really picked up. The sun came out and it was really nice about 10 AM and the bite was on. Three of us limited and released 6 wild ones before 2:30 PM. The water temperature was 36 when we arrived and it was 37.5 when we left. We launched again on Sunday morning and fished the same area. It was overcast and cold and we didn't catch a fish. Amazing what a difference a day makes. The fish checker told us that the 15 fish we checked on Saturday were more fish than she had checked in the last two weeks. This was about the strangest trip we have made to Roosevelt.
