My wife and I went to a new to us lake today, the Quarry Pond at the two rivers recreation area. The lake is an impoundment between the railroad and the Columbia river. Access is easy to get to and you can bank fish near the parking or walk around to find a spot. We picked a spot not far from the disabled fishing dock. Bottom fished with worms on one rod and power bait on the other, No bites. Several others were fishing without luck either, although one person had a small trout from early in the morning. Only fished about 90 minutes, but too slow. Should have brought the canoe and targeted the smallmouths in the river, I could see some wandering the shallows.
