Spent the weekend at Rattlesnake again and of course it was more of the same....lots and lots of stocker RBT. I mean like my record high for the lake on Saturday.

There were a few things different though so I thought I would share them with ya. The HOT lure was any Mag Lip 2.0 in a Gold color. Sooons slowed down but Tazzi’s we’re doing OK too!

The other was that I picked up a monster on Saturday that was 20-24” and 4-5 lbs. Again near the Eagles Tree. Such a fun fight on my UL gear. (Lamiglas UL Infinity and Shimano Stratic CI4+ Paired with Power Pro Yellow 10 lb main and 4 lb Maxima Leader) As you can see from the pic that I use Yakima Baits set up of a double split ring to a # 6 Gama Siwash.
Had a small boat of 3 angler see the action up close and I get the “nice fish, whatcha using” comment and of course I told em. Not sure if they knew what I was talking about.

The bite was super strong from 11:30am to about 2pm and pretty darn good at 7am till about 8:30am. Those were actually the lunar windows if anyone uses those by chance.

As for the Fly guys....which I am at this lake at times....it was super slo for them. The only fly guy I saw catching was a guy in a tube stripping fast after his cast. Most were working their fly super slow with little results.

When it was really on, there was some wind and I tend to find myself rowing much faster than when it’s calm. I feel these fresh planters want a faster presentation. Even the big fella took on a much faster pace as I was rowing away from the small boat that I was side by side with along the shore line.

Since I have put some time into this lake I feel like it’s doing well. There was a lot of negativity about the lake when I first started reading about it back in the fall of 2016 when I started Lake fishing. I feel pretty good to say that their reproducing and based on the monster that I caught that they are growing well also.

If you don’t get there early, good luck at parking on a weekend is the only negative that I can say about this lake.
