Headed out to one of my favorite early season lakes to have a little tussle with some rainbows. Started fishing around 11:30am with considerable rain. Was not certain how the video attempt would go but God blessed with a window of dry weather for a bit so I brought out the camera and began to film. The bite was consistent while I was there and God blessed with 25 fish during my outing.
The highlight of the day was landing what appeared to be a nice, thick 14" holdover after numerous acrobatic jumps trying to spit the hook. That fish hit the frog pattern with a vengeance and immediately began peeling out line, definitely got my adrenaline going! Due to heavy rain starting again and the wind kicking up, decided to call it a day.
The most effective setups were the God's Tooth spoons set on fast action with the 50/50 gold, pink top, frog, brown trout, hammered copper and red/white working well today. All fish were released unharmed to fight another day and the video below shows some of the action for the day. Wishing all tight lines!!!
