Decided to head out for some Smallmouth along Webster Point + Sand Point since the spring bass fishing in Lake W. is notoriously good. Could not raise a single fish along the docks with crank baits or texas-rig worms. Decided to fall back to trolling w/ a crankbait and nailed a nice Smallmouth in about 12' of water on the tip of Webster Point right by the green buoy marker. Aside from that, zero bites in 3 hours. Fished it hard too, so I'm wondering if the current lake level is too high? I come from the Midwest where high lake levels in the spring can have deleterious effect on the Smallmouth spawning. Will be trying the north end of the lake next, any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated.
