I got out to Green Lake roughly 11:45, fished on the NE bank for a few hours and only caught one really tiny smallmouth bass using a bright pink, yellow $ gold spinner. Honestly thought I was just caught on some weeds for a moment it was so small.
After that I walked over to the SE side and bottom fished from there using yellow garlic scented power bait. I caught 3 stocked rainbow trout in 2 hours and had many more bites that got away. I switched to the chartreuse power bait dough and they still loved it. Pink, not so much. It's the yellow and chartreuse power bait these fish want. They were HUNGRY. At one point I set my line, turned around to take off my shirt and I hear my partner telling me I have a fish on the line, turn back around and sure enough my pole was practically bent in half. These suckers swallowed most of the bait and hooks. Normally I would have caught and release, but due to them swallowing the entire hooks, I had to keep 3.
I'm thinking these are the stocked trout that haven't learned yet that they need to start foraging for food on their own now, so they are REALLY hungry and still in schools.
