It was a cold but nice day for flyfishing. My friend and I fished from 9:40 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. My friend landed 6 rainbows with Chartreuse Woolly Bugger in size 12-3X. I landed 2 browns (14" and 15") with Olive Woolly Bugger in size 12-3X and 2 rainbows (15" and 17") with Pheasant Tail Nymph in size 14-2X. We both fished deep areas (probably 15' to 25' deep), but a couple of flyfishermen were catching quite a few fish in shallow areas. In fact, fish were rising for hatching midges only 50' from the shore around 1:00 p.m. It was very interesting to see a light green damsel nymph in March.
