Headed out at 5 Am to Magnusson park for some bass fishing. Was a lot windier than I expected when I launched. Started heading south as I normally fish around the docks just around the corner. Quickly realized that that wasn't going to work today in the wind. Was getting blown around in my inflatable Sea Eagle boat. Decided I would just let the wind push me back to the launch and cast towards shore. Not really expecting much and pretty disappointed that I got up so early for such a bad day. Well that all changed in an few minutes. Caught a 2 inch Cutty (I think) on a spinner so I decided to switch to a rainbow sinking Rapella. Well game on! Within 10 minutes I boated 2 large bass. Both almost identical around 18" and fat! Didn't get any pictures as I was still bobbing around in the wind and waves and didn't want to get my phone out and drop it. Continued drifting past the launch to the swimming area and picked up another 4 or 5 bass and 2 huge pike minnows. One must have been 5 lbs. The wind finally relented but so did the bite. Worked my way back to the launch but no hits. Went from a bummer day to a solid day. Glad I stuck with it.
