In previous reports I have complained about the annoying abundance of trout at this lake. Well this is a day that I am glad they are there. On this day our church (Wellspring Fellowship) and Northern Tribe Outdoors partner up and do a family fishing day. We choose this day as it coincides with Fish Washington Free Day. We gather as many floating things as we can and take kids (and anyone else who wants to) fishing. We happily guarantee that no one will go home with out a catching a fish. We have mostly been able to hold to that. Today was no exception. One of the greatest privileges of the day is to get to be with kids when they catch their first fish. With no motors allowed (except for electric trolling motors) Lake Devereaux is the is the perfect place. What a great day!

Thanks for posting. I stopped by and chatted with your wife on Sunday, I was fishing the lake on a float tube.
There was lots of action and to be able to fish a body of water without the presence of gas motorized engines was an answered prayer. The Kokanee eluded me though, what size hook works best for them? Congrats on the outing - glad to see healthy families enjoying the Lord's creation.

Awesome! She said someone had stopped by and visited. It is a great little lake. I wish there were a few more that didn't have gas motors or even no gas motors before 11am or something! I use Gam. #2 drop shot hooks. On the finder I saw kokanee at 30 feet (at least I figured they were kokes) but we were catching them at 12-15 feet flatlining. Crazy. Be sure and say Hi next time you are out. That is probably the lake I will fish unless I head somewhere like Merwin. Good fishing!

Thanks, I may even have a few of those hooks in storage... I live in Seattle - so its a commute to get there during the week after work, but will probably fish it once or twice before July... Hope to see you out there!
