Banks lake heating up for some good walleye fishing.. report a little late but better late than never..
Saturday fished the lower end of banks outside of coulee city.. weather was overcast threatening some rain but never appeared.. temps cool.. water temps were mid 50s.. trolled around dragging bottom bouncers most of the day in 10 - 50 feet of water trying to hook up where they were. it was quite slow but managed to pick up fish here and there.. mostly in the 20ft or less depths.. pulled cranks for a bit in the morning tipped with some crawler and had same outcome.. slow but picked a couple eyes. ended up with 6 keepers for the 2 of us on Saturday.. all 17-19 inch. sunday headed north to the upper end of the lake.. launched around 7:30am and headed to the flats.. was very busy with boats.. looked like total gridlock out there.. threw the bottom bouncers in away from the crowd in 15-25 fow and started catching fish. water temps in the 60s out on the flats.. morning was consistent but slow.. the afternoon bit was very strong .. colors didn't seem to matter much.. I think I used green/chart. all day and silver on the other .. both boating about the same number of fish.. kept a dozen to bring home.. released a number of fish.. nothing big.. but all good eaters..
