Took a few days off and ran over to fish Roosevelt. I would have ranked it a 5, but I was a bit miffed at myself for losing so much gear. If there was a rock or tree underwater I seemed to latch on to it very well. Oh well, guess I'm glad I spent too much on tackle over the years. Si it was not the fishies fault. They came around. Fished from Hawk Creek to about a halfway point to the mouth of the Spokane. No huge fish although we did get one monster to the side of the boat when the back hook on a worm harness decided to break off. Nice eating size though all the walleye. Picked up several nice trout also. The incidental catch. All planters and about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds. My buddy brought a smoker so we had smoked trout nightly. I was doing the best with dark colored Wally Pops and also Lindy Rigs. Caught the most fish in 15 to 17 feet of water. Got to watch the bottom in the area because it comes up and goes down like a yo yo. Didn't do any good inside the mouth of the Hawk Creek Bay. Saw lots of guys fishing in there, but didn't watch them. So I don't know how they were doing. My other buddy ran over just north and on the opposite side of the Spokane river on those flats and did well also for walleye casting a senco wacky rigged. Couple of my other buddies ran up the Spokane and fished, but didn't do all that well. Great weekend. Weather was perfect.
