First time poster, first time to Riffe Lake. Launched at Mossyrock Park 8am, very nice facility, (Thank you Tacoma Power), free launch during the week, very long ramp but very nice floating dock with tones of space for the busy weekend. Weather was rainy and blowing about 5 to 10 mph from the dam. Lines in the water about 100 yards from the dock, trolled around the point of the island and then turned to cross the lake. Fifteen minutes for first hookup, nice 15". About every 15 minutes I hooked up until I reached the other side then turned to the dam and hooked up to a very nice 19". Eagle flew over to take a look and after I yelled at it, it flew back to the trees. A total of four fish in about 1 1/2 hours, not to bad. Then, nothing, the bight was gone! 11am back to the dock. What a great day!
On another note, talked to two guys in the parking lot, very nice Smoker Craft Osprey 172. They told me they limited out by 10am, 20 fish! What the hell, limit is 5 per person, isn't it. I'm new to the west coast and reading the book of regulations I take it as 5 per person. Landlocked Salmon are considered trout. I'm I wrong?
Any way, it was a great day for me. I will be back next week.
