Yakutat ocean fishing has been off the chart. We had 5 clients for the last 4 days and they caught over 100 halibut to the boat. Average kept was over 100 lbs. First 2 days with little to no tide switch it took a bit to get them biting but when they did it was off the chart. Tides were good the last 2 days and the bit was off the chart. They started with herring cut into 3rds switching to Surry for the preferred bait.

Ling cod was hot on jigs with a hoochie tail. Bright yellow seemed to be the best color for this group.

Yellow eye are still hanging out in the captains secret spot. If a client requests a yellow eye Captain Bill can provide but doesnt like to target them as they are a very old slow growing fish.

Rock fish is good and consistent as always. Captain finds a pod, drifts over them slow and jig to your hearts content.

Come to Yakutat where we fish close and shallow.
