First time fishing Riffe Lake. Read the reports here and of we went. Arrived at 1 pm left at 730 pm. Took us a couple of hrs to figure out that I really did need to use Kokanee gear and not my standard trout plugs or fast speed. An experiment that didn’t work. Got into the fish by the buoys at the dam. 50-80 ft. Deep. But here’s the kicker, I flat lined a rod 150ft back using a 2 inch mag lip in pink. It absolutely got hammered by the rainbow catching 5 fish at about 16 inches. Finished with The 5 coho to get our limit. Now for the taste test-rainbow vs coho- will see.
