Fished on the Blackfoot River outside of Bonner, MT, roughly a 30 minute drive from Missoula. Bought a new flyrod from Costco earlier in the week and wanted to try it out. Used nymphs with little success from 8am-12pm. Saw quite a few people floating the river, some fishing others just enjoying the surrounding mountains. Only 2 or 3 other fisherman throughout the morning who struggled to catch fish, like myself. 2 bites and both times had the trout spit the hook out. Oh well, beautiful scenery though!
