Headed up to the Skagit for the second to the last day of Sockeye. Plunked the Baker Street River Access for a couple hours in the afternoon, but no luck there for me and the 4-5 or so anglers there. Headed up to a spot that a fish checker recommended and began plunking.

Got no bites for an hour and I was about to leave when I heard a splash downstream of me near some fallen logs. Casted right into the spot where I thought the fish jumped at and very quickly had my first ever sockeye on! The bite felt weird and light, like a stray branch had drifted into my line. Had my rod been in its holder I probably would've missed it entirely.

Caught on a size 6 / 8? pink florescent with mylar wings with a pink hoochie with some live sand shrimp.

Shout out to Al for giving me his extra sand shrimp
