We stayed 2 nights at Horseshoe Cove Campground arriving Friday 7-12 and leaving 7-14. Saturday morning we were on the water by 6am or so and started trolling just North of the campground. We have caught fish there in the past but did not have any bites after trolling for a while so we moved to the North end of the lake. We got into the area we had good luck last year in about 40' of water and set the gear down 25' & 30'. The first good bite ended up being a bull trout which was released. Shortly after my daughter lands a decent sized kokanee. Around 9am we finally get our first sockeye on the line and my daughters friend reels in her first sockeye ever. About 20 mins go by and we get another sockeye on the line and my brothers friend reels in his first sockeye ever also. We end up releasing one more bull trout before heading in for breakfast around 10am with 2 sockeye onboard. My brother tried that afternoon and we went out that evening in the wind and chop and had no other bites.

We woke up Sunday morning to rain so getting going was a little slower but we end up on the water around 8am. We try the same spots as the day before but have no more bites. Overall the fishing seemed very slow. When we left town there was about 2,800 fish in the lake. For gear we ran typical Baker lake dodger and hoochie rigs with the hooks tipped with shrimp. Even though the fishing was tough it was still a fun trip with the family.

Nice pics! My son and I were at Horseshoe Cove the same time you guys were (in the Klamath with the blue canvas/canopy).

Great to see the kids out fishing. Enjoyed a couple days at Baker with my daughter this weekend too. We also got a couple on Saturday and none on Sunday.
