I took the family out to Waitts lake this weekend for a fishing and boating trip, and we stayed over at Winona Beach Resort. This is our first year with a boat, so I was excited to see what Waitts had to offer, as I had heard good things! Friday night I was not disappointed! We set out at 10PM and by 11 we had 10 fish in the live well! Saturday was a day to cruise the lake, and then it rained all night, but we did manage to catch a few trolling. However, Sunday morning was outstanding from 6 AM to 9 AM we boated another 15 fish!

Night Fishing yielded different results based on bait. I had some poles rigged up with corn and a nightcrawler, and others with some Berkley maggots. The maggots yielded brown trout, while the worm combination yielded rainbows, and a surprise 6 pound Tench! Trolling was done with leaded line. One rod was setup with a purple Pee Wee Wiggle Hootchie, and the other was setup with either a orange and chartreuse wedding ring, or a Pink Double Whammy. I will definitely be going back to waitts!
