After targeting bass around Kitsap the past few days I decided to change it up and try for some trout. I stood on the grass bank to the left of the fishing pier. Casting towards the lily pads on the opposite bank. I began with spinners, working in the top 12” of water.

First a flashy green and white spinner, no luck. Next I threw a realistic brown trout spinner, no luck. Third time is a charm, I clipped in a BLACK SPINNER W/ YELLOW SPOTS, and an 8” trout hit on my second cast. About 5-7 casts later another one about 10”. Tossed both back in the lake and called it a day.

Went to the boat launch the next morning and caught another trout, casting north on the end of the dock with the same set up as the day before. This one only took about 10 mins and i was crunched for time so I called it after that quick catch.
