I hadn't heard any recent Kokanee reports as most regional anglers have been keyed in on Upper Columbia Kings. I decided to hit Conconully Reservoir. The lake is down considerably but its still very possible to launch smaller boats or kayaks. I started trolling mid-lake not marking much until I reached the dam. Even then the bite was sporadic but as soon as the sun hit the water it lit up. On each pass in front of the dam I would get 1 to 3 bites and in an hour and a half I had a limit of fish in the boat.

To make the day more interesting. I decided test a long held belief that shorter leaders were superior to longer leaders. I used identical gear but changed only leader length (6" vs 18"). The results were very interesting. Fish were in 30-35' of water holding anywhere from 20' to hard on the bottom. 2 oz at 80' on line counter put me in the strike zone.
