First time fishing in this area and it was amazing. My buddies and I Got there Friday the 20th about 2pm. And had our lines in the water about 2:30. Fished for about 39 min and Bam had the right of my life. I knew it was a big fish but didn't know how big. After 19 min (i only know that because I had my GoPro on) I finally landed the biggest Chinook of my life. A 28.5 lb king!! Absolutely amazing first fish. About 30 min later of casting and retrieving Itvwas fish in again. This time it was a nice big Coho. I went to bed happy that day. The next morning woke up and went right to the same spot and Bam. Another king. About a 15 lber this time. Still a great. Fish. I have to say it was an amazing weekend.

My buddy this same morning hooked into a 23lb king and he fought that for 17 min. It was a hog for sure. We were pretty excited. Definitely will be going back soon. I got all mine on a pink King Killer with a green blade on it. Oh and another crazy thing. Ran into Gerard Butler the actor in LaPush at a little store there. Just hanging out camping. I added that photo to!!

Nice fish. A few things. Everyone needs to be aware that Wild fish can't be kept within the National Park. I'm sure you got yours outside the Park but most people don't know the Park has different rules.
2nd. Also the run is not what it once was. I know a lot of the Guides, locals and others are releasing the Kings to protect the run.
Great Job!

Yep definitely was not in the Park. Very aware of the rules. Very much a rule follower. Alot of the guides i saw out there were keeping the king's there clients cought. Different for everyone I guess. We had a blast!!!

To add to that. Its amazing how many people we saw not following the rules. Lots of treble hooks being used out there. Lots!! One guide even was having his clients use them. Hisbline got wrapped around my buddies and I untangled it and they had treble hooks. Crazy to me people think a trebble hook is a single hook. I mean it's right there in the regs and in the actual name of the hook. TREble. Meaning 3. But hey I'm not the law and the law was definitely out there watching. They just didn't see the hooks being used in the boats. Anyhow, great trip! Definitely won't forget it.

Rule correction:
It is legal to use a treble hook as long as it is barbless. Check the regs, it states "only one barbless hook allowed". Doesn't say "only one single point barbless hook allowed".
Nice fish~!

I guess I interpreted that differently. Good to know. Thank you

No worries, they throw trick phrases in the regs all over the place. Always fun when the warden comes sliding down the river behind you in an unmarked drift boat to make sure you're playing by the rules.
