Spent the afternoon up at Cavanaugh. Lake is cooling off, fish are not so easy to find but they are there! Got 3 very nice fat roe filled Kokes. 13-14 inches. 38 feet with purple squid. Last fish in the boat was a 14 inch rather good looking Cutthroat also 14 inches. It was by far the best looking cutty I have pulled out of the lake, so I decided to keep it for the smoker. When I cleaned it, her gut was full to the max with tiny clam/mussel? shells. I have never seen that before. There are almost no bugs at the lake and before this the cutthroat have been pencil thin. Does anybody know more about this? I just have never in all my years fishing seen anything like it.

On another note, there was a surveyor from WDFW and we had a chat. He was doing preliminary measuring for what might become a blacktopped parking lot, new bathrooms, and even a DOCK! Woohooo, this is huge if it happens.
