Launched the boat at Shilshoe (only a hand full of boats) a little before sunrise and had lines in the water by 6:30am right out in front of Shilshoe headed North.. After a few shakers I had one on around 7:30 and it felt like a solid fish as it was peeling line off the reel giving a good fight...While waiting for my old man to hurry up and grab the night I tried to play the fish a little longer stalling in order for him to get ready but it ended up coming off (one of those times I wish we could use barbed hooks)...
The next few hours we caught a lot of shakers and it got to be rather frustrating at times when you just set your line out and boom another shaker... Around the tide change at 9:15am the old man lands a nice hatchery fish around 30ft deep with green/silver flasher and silver horde ace fly hi,purple with a strip of herring... The next few hours involved a lot more shakers as we slowly trolled our way down to just south of the oil docks.. Around 11:30 using the same gear I hooked another nice one at 70ft which put up a good fight many times peeling some line off the reel making it a fun fight. This time the old man wasted no time and was ready to net it giving us our limit as we headed for the barn.
