After 5 fishless trips to McNary this fall we were beginning to think the boat was jinxed. This trip took all the sink off, or put some on! My son and I pulled out of the launch by the museum about 7:30 and trolled down in front of Columbia park to just above the launch by the Blue Bridge. My son ran a Green ProTroll and pink\white\green Brads Cutbait and I ran Silver with a Seahawk Superbait. Near the end of the first pass my son hooked up with a 2lb Chinook jack. OK, so our tactics were good this fall, that's nice to know. Third pass he hooks up with a 5-6lb Coho, much better fight than the first fish. The coho has beautiful pink meat, the little jacks is almost white. I switched to pink/silver super buss and purple Simon spinner for the next two passes. I hooked this up on one of the humps but got it back. Last pass I went back to the silver protroll with a Mexican hat 3.5 simon spinner. As we neared the lower end of the park again I picked up a 12lb Chinook. Beautiful day on the water with my son. Some clouds early with cool east wind, then mostly sunny and lighter breeze. Marked lots of fish, between 15' to bottom, and we fished a few feet off the bottom most of the time. Speed was 2.7-2.9 downstream. 10 trailers when we launched.
