Hit the river this morning with my friend. No action at all until about an hour and a half after sunrise. When the bite turned on, we were catching them as fast as we could bonk, bleed, and record them on our catch cards. No subtle nibbles at all, they were vigorously chomping on the eggs and quickly swimming off with them. I had plenty of chances but I came out 1 jack shy of a full limit. My friend did pretty well himself, he got 3 adults and a big 19 3/4'' jack. We were each using different egg cures but we noticed the fish showed a preference towards a certain additive we were both using. We didn't see anyone next to us fishing eggs even get a nibble. While cleaning the fish we found two hens with only 1 big skein inside each of them. All the skeins we got were also large and mature. I've always taken this as a sign that the run was winding down when fresh fish came in with mature eggs.

Any chance I could tag along for a few? New to eggs and haven't had a bite. Watching utube only gets me so far.

Good to hear there's still some nice silvers down low on their march upriver...I noticed that too about the hens I've been catchin'...Pretty mature eggs and a bit on the loose side...But still some nice bright chrome fish.

I cured up the looser skeins to make them a little more durable...Then before casting I cut a few pieces and sprinkle on a little extra bite enhancer that seems to get them to pop.

Keep slayin' em man! You're doing awesome and I enjoy seeing your reports.

Oh and I noticed about one skein bigger than the other...Interesting...Not sure what that means other than perhaps an immature fish I reckon. The ocean conditions sure have been having an effect on fish size, so why not skein development. I blame El Nino! lol

These fish only had one single skein each. Just one large skein as opposed to the normal pair.
