So went to one of my usual spots on the green by Kent, decided to toss some eggs under a float but after an hour of no bites I decided to spey cast for a bit, again nothing but still fun to get the muscle memory of casting back. So I ended up just drift fishing some cookies and beads, after a while I started to hit some fresher pinks still nothing worth keeping. When releasing a nice buck humpy I found a cookie on the bank that was different from what I had been using so I tied it on and within three casts felt a sharp whack had a nice blushed coho buck.
Put him on a stringer and tried for two but alas another hour or so went by and just pinks. But I like just getting out and enjoying the river so even if all I caught we're pinks I'd have been happy. Got to thinking today thought that it seems to me that the river opened later than it did in the past, I'm curious to hear anyone else's thoughts about this.
