Changed things up and hit Meridian today. Didn't get there until about 11:30AM.

Started off by the south side working my way west. Only using 3 rods. Jerkbait, dropshot, and t-rig craw. Found a decent size school of baitfish. Prob perch. Got a few nips but no hookup. Didn't see anything tracking them.

Kept weaving in and out from 5' to 40'.

Flipped into some greenish pads and the transition into some other weeds with nothing to show for it. Started moving out past the outside weedline and spotted a bigger school of baitfish. Again, more nips but no hookups.

Working the steeper shoreline and I found a HUGE school of bait. They look tiny on sonar but covered my entire graph. At least 60' span. Did see what could be 2-3 bass near them bc they were bigger marks. Tossed the dropshot there a couple of times. Reeled back towards the boat and I see a SMB swap at my Lure but missed. Wasn't big, maybe 13". Tossed it back again. As the Lure was falling, I can feel a strike and missed again. When I missed, it brought the setup near the surface and the bass swipes again. This one looked bigger. The fish missed but I think it was striking at my weight. Tried for about 15 more mins there without any success.

Tried the other side for a while. More nips but no hookups

I at least saw 2 bass with my own eyes. Had my opportunities but couldn't capitalize. A full on Skunk day.

Hmmm I think that would be a good time to use a small jig as a weight instead of a lead weight. I use to do that, time to do it again I guess.
