Among my favorite ice fisheries in the state. We wandered up to Curlew Lake for some ice perch fishing at the state's premier Yellow Perch ice fishery and it did not disappoint. It didn't take long to locate a big school of perch using my Panoptix and once I was on them the action did not stop. The bite was subtle but consistent through most of the morning in 30-35' of water. Tungsten jigs tipped with maggots worked as did swedish pimples.

Holy smokes, that's the biggest perch I've ever seen. Tacos?

We have perch green curry followed by Vietnamese crispy fish and then a plain ole fish fry!

Dang, sounds really good. Are we all too late to drop in unannounced? :)

Nice haul. Do you have a special way of cleaning them or does it just take a long time?

I just use an electric fillet knife. Takes about 90 seconds a fish to debone completely. I got about 8 lbs of boneless fillets from this haul

Remember when wdfw killed the lake off to get rid of those?

Wow, are there any left? I caught a big one in the Columbia once, but I don't think it was that big.
