We launched at Porcupine Bay about 7:30. Fortunately the road and ramp conditions were perfect making for an uneventful commute. After jigging for 2 hour with limited success, we switched guns and started bottom walking worm spinner harnesses. This proved to be much more productive. All of our bites came in 50 FOW and deeper. The bite was a little bit slower than I had hoped, but the walleye were aggressively inhaling our crawlers when they did decide to bite. At about 10am and 3 pm the action pick up for a little bit which gave a nice boost to our catch. Fish measured 11-19”. I find 3-4oz. Bottom walkers are most effective at these deeper depths.

Good luck out there and don’t forget to bring the snow chains. Never know if you’ll need them this time of year.
