report = Well the sun was shining in Eastern Washington, so my roommate and
I decided to head up to Amber lake to try our luck with the lake Trout. We
arrived at the lake in the middle of the afternoon, hoping that the wind
would not pick up. It was warm and I thought that the fish would be near
the bottom, hanging out down there. We started just off the boat ramp right
in the middle of the lake. My roommate was using sinking line, and I had on
intermediate sinking, to see about where they were. We had talked to a
gentleman that was getting off the lake about the time that we were getting
on, and he said use wooley buggers, black or dark green, and go deep, so
that is what we did. We had quick a few hits, but nothing that would take
the fly real hard. I caught one, was about 14 inches, but nothing else, so
I changed to a baby blue damsel, and caught another, but it was slow. We
stayed low all day working the deeper water, and had little success, We
fished hard for about six hours and caught 5 fish between the two of us. I feel it was a little
slow.
