Fished Sat/Sun downstream of Seven Bays. Sat was an awesome day, sunny, mostly calm, and nice. Funny how you can round a bend and be in winds then round another bend and be in flat calm conditions.
Motored down below Whitestone since we hadn't fished there in quite some time. Picked up a native early, then nothing for about an hour, when a 19" clipped 'bow hit my Rip'n Minnow. Not long after, a fat 16 1/2" clipped 'bow hit my wife's Kekeda fly and met the cooler ice. Worked the same area for the next 45mins or so without success so moved on.
Crossed over just above Lundstrum bay and worked the other shoreline the rest of the day. Have fished that side before without success, but one particular spot produced 4 in about 30mins, 2 weren't clipped, a third came unbuttoned about 15' back, and my wife iced another 16incher.
We headed back to that same spot Sunday, and within 20mins, it produced a 17" clipped 'bow and a hog that hammered my Rip'n Minnow only to reveal that pesky extra fin once lifted in the net. Not another bite the rest of the morning, so we packed in it after noon,
Ran leaded lines with Kekeda flies baited with worms out 150' and Rip'n Minnows on mono out 195'. Speeds ranged from 2.6 - 3.2mph. Water surface temps ranged from 37.4° - 37.8° both days.
