The freeze thaw cycle has firmed up the ice on a number of small lakes in Okanogan county making walking on the ice much easier. Went out to Rat in search of Rainbow Trout sans a fishfinder. It took 15-20 minutes to get my first fish of the day about 10' down over 40' of water and after that I experienced a consistent bite every 5-10 minutes for the next couple hours before I left. Most fish hit in the top 20' of the water column on either a blob fly or a pink tungsten jig with pink plastics. All in all a good morning on very noisy ice.
