The ice is still nearly 2' thick on Bonaparte Lake. Decided to take advantage of the spring like weather to do some ice fishing for Kokanee. I headed straight out from the resort and drilled several test holes. It didn't take long to locate several schools of Kokanee roaming over the basin in 90' of water. Some were feeding just below the ice while other could be found at all depths down to the bottom. I quickly caught 9 but it took another hour to get #10 through the hole.
