I caught the biggest bass of my life! I didnt have a scale but it must have been in the 5lbs area for sure. It was a hog! An absolute lunker! I caught it on the north end of the lake while casting parallel to the logs. I cast my perch pattern rapala jerk bait & got a bite that wasn't strong or weak just normal, so it took a moment to realize how big she was. The fish freaked out made for the log jamb, I forced it out only to get wrapped around another log. I held pressure as I trembled & tried to maneuver the boat around the end of the log. I successfully freed the line & was shocked to find the fish still on! Another moment of elation & the fish was in the net (it barely fit!). Later that day I caught another decent sized largemouth & also managed to catch a very nice trout (17inch or so) on a jointed perch. The weather was fairly cooperative, but a few sprinkles was well worth it. All fish were released in good health to be caught again another day.

Thanks for the little tale (tail?) about your catch as well. Fortunately, I know that nervous feeling you speak of!

Nice fish! Get a tape measure 20" is about 5lbs. Congrats on big one. Perch color is my go to minnow. Big ones found tend to just pull lure down don't slam it all the time. So have to be alert they like to roll up and inhale the lure.
