Lonzo and I decided to check out summit lake last Saturday. We launched the boat around 8:30 AM in a mild rain and pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves with the exception of two other boats. Since this was a new lake we decided to try a few different lures. A crankbait, a tube, a killer cuttplug and a nerka bug that I make. Right way we got action on the orange and gold flake cuttplug (hottest lure of the day) and landed a nice little cutthroat trout. We ended up catching fish on all our offerings anywhere from the surface down to twenty five feet. We hooked one kokanee about 8 inches and lost it trying to lift it into the boat. Unfortunately my sd card on my camera was full so that one didnt make it into the video. We will definitely be foing back ti summit in the future. Tight lines!

Summit can produce good trout and Kokanee. We usually fish for trout on the bottom in 30ft of water. Kokanee we pick up around 50-65ft of water. Deep lake my father says that he uses a small lure and jigs for them. Only issue with Summit in the past was late spring the fish would start getting a lice on the fish.
